MECHANISM OF ACTION
Geratam (piracetam) mechanism of action is not fully understood but studies have shown that it mildly affects the brain’s neurotransmitters and receptors. It is neither a sedative or a stimulant but is known to influence cognitive ability. Geratam (piracetam) is also believed to increase oxygen and blood flow in key areas of the brain but this is not believed to be its main nootropic action.
GERATAM SAFETY, TOLERANCE & DRUG INTERACTIONS
Some people taking it might experience mild headaches, gastrointestinal symptoms, and sleeping problems. Lecithin/Choline will rid the use of Geratam of most of its unpleasant side effects, as well as having a synergistic effect on the drug, improving brain function and slowing the development of tolerance. Individuals who are prone to experiencing medication reactions in general may be at a higher risk than others, and they should consult with their physicians. Geratam has proven to be safe, with low toxicity, side effects and drug interactions.
GERATAM STACK
Geratam (piracetam) goes well in combination with other nootropics. It goes especially well with a Lecithin/Choline source and this is always recommended.
Dosage
The usual dose is 2,400 to 4,800 mg per day in three divided doses. Some literature recommends a high "attack" dose (approximately 4,000 to 8,000 mg) be taken for the first two days. Geratam (piracetam) takes effect within 30 to 60 minutes.
